基督如何满足人的实际需要
约翰福音二章1至11节
1第三日，在加利利的迦拿有娶亲的筵席，耶稣的母亲在那里。
2耶稣和他的门徒也被请去赴席。
3酒用尽了，耶稣的母亲对他说：“他们没有酒了。”
4耶稣说：“母亲（注：原文作“妇人”），我与你有甚么相干？我的时候还没有到。”
5他母亲对用人说：“他告诉你们甚么，你们就做甚么。”
6照犹太人洁净的规矩，有六口石缸摆在那里，每口可以盛两三桶水。
7耶稣对用人说：“把缸倒满了水。”他们就倒满了，直到缸口。
8耶稣又说：“现在可以舀出来，送给管筵席的。”他们就送了去。
9管筵席的尝了那水变的酒，并不知道是哪里来的，只有舀水的用人知道。管筵席的便叫新郎来，
10对他说：“人都是先摆上好酒，等客喝足了，才摆上次的；你倒把好酒留到如今！”
11这是耶稣所行的头一件神迹，是在加利利的迦拿行的，显出他的荣耀来，他的门徒就信他了。

从第1节所示，耶稣在早前已被邀请参加这个婚筵；可能这就是他从南部匆忙赶来的原因；与祂同行的，还有最早跟从祂的四位门徒。当时的婚筵往往持续七至十天，在婚筵进行的期间，出现了一个意想不到的危机：酒用尽了，主人再没有酒款待客人。试想像厨房的主管会是何等慌乱！
每个基督徒的生活中，都会有些时候感到自己没有余力解决面前的问题。但当我们发觉基督与我们同在，就可以欣然喜乐，正如祂正在婚筵当中一样，祂能满足我们一切的需要。
留意他对仆人的意想不到的吩咐。祂并没有追问是谁的失职，祂只是确认这危机，并伸出援手，解决危机。那些水缸可盛超过五百公升（或120加仑）的水。仆人要到哪里取水？附近的水井？他们要颇费一番功夫才能盛满水，但最终却证明他们的努力没有徒然。
请留意，仆人在此之后，还要作出另一个信心的行动。基督吩咐他们「现在可以舀出来，送给管筵席的」，他们会怎样想呢？他们可能会说：「可这只是水啊！」但他们依然顺服，神迹便发生了。基督足可以面对任何情形，但祂却要求我们相信并顺服祂。唯有这样，祂才会施行神迹。今天将你的需要告诉祂，然后让祂来处理一切。
HOW CHRIST MET A REAL NEED
John 2: 1-11
1 On the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there.
2 Now both Jesus and His disciples were invited to the wedding.
3 And when they ran out of wine, the mother of Jesus said to Him, “They have no wine.”
4 Jesus said to her, “Woman, what does your concern have to do with Me? My hour has not yet come.”
5 His mother said to the servants, “Whatever He says to you, do it.”
6 Now there were set there six waterpots of stone, according to the manner of purification of the Jews, containing twenty or thirty gallons apiece.
7 Jesus said to them, “Fill the waterpots with water.” And they filled them up to the brim.
8 And He said to them, “Draw some out now, and take it to the master of the feast.” And they took it.
9 When the master of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the master of the feast called the bridegroom.
10 And he said to him, “Every man at the beginning sets out the good wine, and when the guests have well drunk, then the inferior. You have kept the good wine until now!”
11 This beginning of signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His glory; and His disciples believed in Him.

It would seem from the wording of verse 1 that Jesus had previously been invited to the wedding. Possibly that was the reason why He had hurried back from the south. He was accompanied by His first four disciples. The wedding feasts of those days often lasted from seven to ten days. At this wedding there came an unexpected crisis. The wine ran out and there were no reserves. Imagine the panic in the kitchen!
There are times in the life of every Christian when it seems our reserves have run out. It is right then we are glad that, just as He was there at the wedding feast, Christ is here with us and He can meet every need which may arise.
Notice His unexpected command to the servants. He didn’t ask whose fault it was. He simply identified with the crisis and set about resolving it. Those water pots held a total of 120 gallons - over 500 litres.
Where did the servants get the water? From a nearby well? It took real effort on their part but it proved to be so worthwhile.
But notice there was a step of faith on their part even after that. What were the servants’ thoughts as Christ said “Take some to the master of the feast”? They could have said, “But it’s only water.” They were still obedient and the miracle happened. Christ is sufficient for every situation but what He asks for is our faith in Him and our obedience. This leaves the way open for Him to work - and when they are present He can still perform miracles. Tell Him your need today and then let Him work it all out in His own way.
