但以理为王解梦
但以理书二章19至29节
19这奥秘的事就在夜间异象中给但以理显明，但以理便称颂天上的神。
20但以理说：神的名是应当称颂的！从亘古直到永远，因为智慧能力都属乎他。
21他改变时候、日期，废王，立王，将智慧赐与智慧人，将知识赐与聪明人。
22他显明深奥隐秘的事，知道暗中所有的，光明也与他同居。
23我列祖的神啊，我感谢你，赞美你，因你将智慧才能赐给我，允准我们所求的，把王的事给我们指明。
24于是，但以理进去见亚略，就是王所派灭绝巴比伦哲士的，对他说：不要灭绝巴比伦的哲士，求你领我到王面前，我要将梦的讲解告诉王。
25亚略就急忙将但以理领到王面前，对王说：我在被掳的犹大人中遇见一人，他能将梦的讲解告诉王。
26王问称为伯提沙撒的但以理说：你能将我所做的梦和梦的讲解告诉我么？
27但以理在王面前回答说：王所问的那奥秘事，哲士、用法术的、术士、观兆的都不能告诉王；
28只有一位在天上的神能显明奥秘的事。他已将日后必有的事指示尼布甲尼撒王。你的梦和你在床上脑中的异象是这样：
29王啊，你在床上想到后来的事，那显明奥秘事的主把将来必有的事指示你。

但以理为我们立了一个美好的榜样。当神应允他的祈求，将王的梦和梦的解释，在异象中向他显明，他便立刻为神所彰显的大能而衷心谢恩（20至23节）。
当但以理来到王的面前，为王解梦，他便首先向王称颂神的智慧和权能。巴比伦是一个信奉异教的国家，巴比伦王也掌握了人的生死大权；然而，但以理却毫不畏惧地宣称他所信的，是一位拥有最高权能的神。他说：「只有一位天上的神，能显明奥秘的事。」（28节）接着，他才向王讲述梦和梦的解释。
这个奇怪的异象，向尼布甲尼撒王启示了数百年后所发生的事。神真的可以预知未来吗？只因这位至高的真神，从世界一开始便预知了它的终结，祂是掌管历史的神。这位永恒不变的神，今天同样掌管着你和我的未来，祂必亲自引导我们走前面的路。
尼布甲尼撒在梦中见到的像，基本上是预示了世界列强在历史中的转替。强国一个接一个地兴起，但至终却会没落和瓦解，直至耶稣基督在地上永远作王（44节）。
借着基督的再来，成就神的计划，实现在祂儿子身上的应许--万物都要因耶稣的名屈膝跪拜。我们还要等多久呢？我们不知道确实的答案。不过，彼得提醒我们说：「亲爱的弟兄啊，你们既盼望这些事，就当殷勤，使自己没有玷污，无可指摘，安然见主。」（彼后三14）
我们应该以这种心态来过每天的生活。每天都假定耶稣基督今天将会回来，所以要努力为主而活；并要殷勤事主，赢取更多的人进入神的国度。你期望耶稣就在今天再来吗？你是否已作好准备去迎见祂呢？
DANIEL AND THE KING'S DREAM
Daniel 2:19-29
19 Then the secret was revealed to Daniel in a night vision. So Daniel blessed the God of heaven.
20 Daniel answered and said: “ Blessed be the name of God forever and ever,
For wisdom and might are His.
21 And He changes the times and the seasons;
He removes kings and raises up kings;
He gives wisdom to the wise
And knowledge to those who have understanding.
22 He reveals deep and secret things;
He knows what is in the darkness,
And light dwells with Him.
23 “ I thank You and praise You,
O God of my fathers;
You have given me wisdom and might,
And have now made known to me what we asked of You,
For You have made known to us the king’s demand.”
Daniel Explains the Dream
24 Therefore Daniel went to Arioch, whom the king had appointed to destroy the wise men of Babylon. He went and said thus to him: “Do not destroy the wise men of Babylon; take me before the king, and I will tell the king the interpretation.”
25 Then Arioch quickly brought Daniel before the king, and said thus to him, “I have found a man of the captives of Judah, who will make known to the king the interpretation.”
26 The king answered and said to Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, “Are you able to make known to me the dream which I have seen, and its interpretation?”
27 Daniel answered in the presence of the king, and said, “The secret which the king has demanded, the wise men, the astrologers, the magicians, and the soothsayers cannot declare to the king.
28 But there is a God in heaven who reveals secrets, and He has made known to King Nebuchadnezzar what will be in the latter days. Your dream, and the visions of your head upon your bed, were these:
29 As for you, O king, thoughts came to your mind while on your bed, about what would come to pass after this; and He who reveals secrets has made known to you what will be.
Message
Daniel was an exception. His first action when God had revealed both the king's forgotten dream and its interpretation was to thank God for this remarkable display of His power (vv.20-23).
Notice Daniel's description of God's wisdom and powers when he was standing before Nebuchadnezzar. In a heathen court where the king had the power of life and death, Daniel was not afraid to speak of the greater power of his God. "There is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries," he said (v.28). Then he proceeded to outline both the dream and its interpretation.
This strange vision given to Nebuchadnezzar revealed the future for hundreds of years to come. How was this possible? It is simply because God knows the end from the beginning and He is still the same today. He knows our future and can guide us accordingly.
Basically the image Nebuchadnezzar saw in his dream was a prophetic picture of successive future world empires. Each of them would rise, then fail and crash until finally Jesus Christ takes over the rulership of the world (v.44).
That event, the second coming of Christ, is the next step in God's plan to bring about the fulfillment of His promise to His Son that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow. How soon will that be? We do not know but Peter reminded us, (2 Peter 3:14) "So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him."
That should be our daily attitude. We need to live as if Jesus is coming today, yet to work as if He will not be coming for another generation. Are you expecting Jesus to come today? Are you ready to meet him?
