撒母耳记上十七章38至51节
38扫罗就把自己的战衣给大卫穿上，将铜盔给他戴上，又给他穿上铠甲。
39大卫把刀跨在战衣外，试试能走不能走。因为素来没有穿惯，就对扫罗说：“我穿戴这些不能走，因为素来没有穿惯。”于是摘脱了。
40他手中拿杖，又在溪中挑选了五块光滑石子，放在袋里，就是牧人带的囊里；手中拿着甩石的机弦，就去迎那非利士人。
41非利士人也渐渐地迎着大卫来，拿盾牌的走在前头。
42非利士人观看，见了大卫，就藐视他，因为他年轻，面色光红，容貌俊美。
43非利士人对大卫说：“你拿杖到我这里来，我岂是狗呢？”非利士人就指着自己的神咒诅大卫。
44非利士人又对大卫说：“来吧！我将你的肉给空中的飞鸟、田野的走兽吃。”
45大卫对非利士人说：“你来攻击我，是靠着刀枪和铜戟；我来攻击你，是靠着万军之耶和华的名，就是你所怒骂带领以色列军队的神。
46今日耶和华必将你交在我手里。我必杀你，斩你的头；又将非利士军兵的尸首给空中的飞鸟、地上的野兽吃，使普天下的人都知道以色列中有神；
47又使这众人知道耶和华使人得胜，不是用刀用枪，因为争战的胜败全在乎耶和华。他必将你们交在我们手里。”
48非利士人起身，迎着大卫前来。大卫急忙迎着非利士人，往战场跑去。
49大卫用手从囊中掏出一块石子来，用机弦甩去，打中非利士人的额，石子进入额内，他就仆倒，面伏于地。
50这样，大卫用机弦甩石，胜了那非利士人，打死他；大卫手中却没有刀。
51大卫跑去，站在非利士人身旁，将他的刀从鞘中拔出来，杀死他，割了他的头。非利士众人看见他们讨战的勇士死了，就都逃跑。

扫罗的盔甲，跟歌利甲的盔甲一样，都是用最坚硬的金属造成。但大卫知道，他若要胜过眼前这个巨人，就不单需要这副盔甲。当他上前迎战的时候，他对歌利亚说的甚么呢？他说：「你来攻击我，是靠着刀枪和铜戟；我来攻击你，是靠着万军之耶和华的名，就是你所怒骂带领以色列军队的神。」
这次的对战实在太强弱悬殊了：年轻的大卫一手拿着牧杖，一手拿着机弦，飞跑迎战对方的巨人战士。
但请看第50节：「大卫胜那非利士人，打死他，大卫手中却没有刀」。他究竟有甚么秘密武器呢？是神与祂同在。他知道这是神的争战，而神也报偿他的信心。
我们今天也有同样的秘密武器，去帮助我们面对一些力不能胜的处境。我们若信靠基督是我们的救主，神便会站在我们的身边，我们也会站神的身边。
我们要记着，大卫的胜利就是以色列的胜利。因着大卫击败敌人，所有以色列人都成为胜利者。
这对我们有甚么意义呢？基督的胜利就是我们的胜利。神希望我们接受这个原则，分享基督的胜利，并且每天经历这胜利的喜悦。撒但就像非利士人一样，不会承认失败，反会伺机再来攻击我们；然而，我们若紧靠基督，胜利便永远属于我们。
反思：
基督已为我们得胜，我们有没有分享这胜利？有否在现实生活中经历到得胜的喜乐？
“ONE LITTLE STONE WENT IN THE AIR”
1 Samuel 17:38-51
38 So Saul clothed David with his armor, and he put a bronze helmet on his head; he also clothed him with a coat of mail.
39 David fastened his sword to his armor and tried to walk, for he had not tested them. And David said to Saul, “I cannot walk with these, for I have not tested them.” So David took them off.
40 Then he took his staff in his hand; and he chose for himself five smooth stones from the brook, and put them in a shepherd’s bag, in a pouch which he had, and his sling was in his hand. And he drew near to the Philistine.
41 So the Philistine came, and began drawing near to David, and the man who bore the shield went before him.
42 And when the Philistine looked about and saw David, he disdained him; for he was only a youth, ruddy and good-looking.
43 So the Philistine said to David, “Am I a dog, that you come to me with sticks?” And the Philistine cursed David by his gods.
44 And the Philistine said to David, “Come to me, and I will give your flesh to the birds of the air and the beasts of the field!”
45 Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.
46 This day the LORD will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you and take your head from you. And this day I will give the carcasses of the camp of the Philistines to the birds of the air and the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.
47 Then all this assembly shall know that the LORD does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the LORD’s, and He will give you into our hands.”
48 So it was, when the Philistine arose and came and drew near to meet David, that David hurried and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine.
49 Then David put his hand in his bag and took out a stone; and he slung it and struck the Philistine in his forehead, so that the stone sank into his forehead, and he fell on his face to the earth.
50 So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone, and struck the Philistine and killed him. But there was no sword in the hand of David.
51 Therefore David ran and stood over the Philistine, took his sword and drew it out of its sheath and killed him, and cut off his head with it.
And when the Philistines saw that their champion was dead, they fled.
Message
Saul's armour was made of the same metals out of which Goliath's armour was made. David realized something else would be needed if the giant was to be overcome. As he approached Goliath, what did he say? “You come to me with sword and spear ...but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel whom you have defied.”
It seems an incredible encounter. A young man with a staff in one hand, a sling in the other, is running quickly to fight this giant warrior.
But look again at verse 50 “David triumphed over the Philistine ...without a sword in his hand”. What was his secret weapon? God was with him. He recognized the battle was the Lord's and God honoured his faith.
We have the same weapons today when facing impossible circumstances. God is on our side and we are on His side if we are trusting in Christ as Saviour.
Also remember David's victory was Israel's victory. Every Israelite became a conqueror that day because of David's victory.
What does all this say to us? Christ's victory is our victory. God wants us to accept that principle. He wants us to share in that victory, and to know it's experience day by day. Like the Philistines who came back later again and again, in the same way Satan will not admit defeat. But victory over him is ours in Christ.
A THOUGHT FOR TODAY: Christ has given us the victory. Are we enjoying it? Are we experiencing it?
