重见光明
约翰福音九章1至11节
1耶稣过去的时候，看见一个人生来是瞎眼的。
2门徒问耶稣说：拉比，这人生来是瞎眼的，是谁犯了罪？是这人呢？是他父母呢？
3耶稣回答说：也不是这人犯了罪，也不是他父母犯了罪，是要在他身上显出神的作为来。
4趁著白日，我们必须做那差我来者的工；黑夜将到，就没有人能做工了。
5我在世上的时候，是世上的光。
6耶稣说了这话，就吐唾沫在地上，用唾沫和泥抹在瞎子的眼睛上，
7对他说：你往西罗亚池子里去洗（西罗亚繙出来就是奉差遣）。他去一洗，回头就看见了。
8他的邻舍和那素常见他是讨饭的，就说：这不是那从前坐着讨饭的人么？
9有人说：是他；又有人说；不是，却是像他。他自己说：是我。
10他们对他说：你的眼睛是怎么开的呢？
11他回答说：有一个人，名叫耶稣，他和泥抹我的眼睛，对我说：你往西罗亚池子去洗。我去一洗，就看见了。

四卷福音书总共记载了六个关乎基督治好瞎子的神迹；但只有现在这个的主人公是天生瞎眼的。门徒询问基督的问题，显示他们最感兴趣的，是想探知这个人生下来瞎眼，究竟是谁犯罪的恶果；但基督最关心的，却是这位瞎子本身的需要，并且希望借此机会来彰显神的荣耀。
基督并没有立即把这名瞎子医好，反之，祂吩咐他到西罗亚池去洗他的眼。这人若想获得医治，就必须听从基督的指示去做。他生来瞎眼，责任不在他；可是，他决定是否听从基督的话去做，却是他个人的责任。
当他听从基督的话去做，他就立即永久性地恢复了视力，得以重见光明。他虽然不知道自己是怎样被医好的，但他却能够作出美好的见证，请读第25节：「有一件事我知道，从前我是眼瞎的，如今能看见了」。这是他的亲身经历，他当然知道得最清楚了！他过往一直活在黑暗之中，现在却重见光明了。
在我们祈求基督进入我们生命中的那一刻，我们未必知道会有甚么事情发生，然而，我们却确实地知道发生了某些改变。哥林多后书五章17节正好把这种改变清楚地描述出来：「若有人在基督里，他就是新造的人，旧事已过，都变成新的了」。
我们可以放心信靠圣经的应许。神的话语清楚告诉我们，人若求告基督的名，就可得着救恩。我们无须对此抱有疑惑，只要相信基督必照我们所求的赐下救恩，我们的生命就必显出基督所带来的改变了。
反思：
一个大罪人，更需要接受一位伟大的救主，而他的生命必得着翻天覆地的改变。
HOW ARE YOUR EYES?
John 9: 1 – 11
1 Now as Jesus passed by, He saw a man who was blind from birth.
2 And His disciples asked Him, saying, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”
3 Jesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him.
4 I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work.
5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”
6 When He had said these things, He spat on the ground and made clay with the saliva; and He anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay.
7 And He said to him, “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam” (which is translated, Sent). So he went and washed, and came back seeing.
8 Therefore the neighbors and those who previously had seen that he was blind said, “Is not this he who sat and begged?”
9 Some said, “This is he.” Others said, “He is like him.”
He said, “I am he.”
10 Therefore they said to him, “How were your eyes opened?”
11 He answered and said, “A Man called Jesus made clay and anointed my eyes and said to me, ‘Go to the pool of Siloam and wash.’ So I went and washed, and I received sight.”
Message
There are six miracles in the gospels in which Christ gave someone their sight. This man was the only one who was said to have been born blind. The disciples wanted to ask a question about who was to blame for his blindness, but Christ saw a man in need and an opportunity to glorify God.
Christ did not make it easy for this man. He gave him something to do (‘Go and wash your eyes in a pool some distance away’). The man had to do what Christ had told him to do. He was not responsible for his being born blind, but he was responsible for accepting or rejecting Christ’s words.
When he obeyed Christ, his sight was given to him, instantly and permanently. The man didn’t really know how it all happened but he had a wonderful testimony. Read verse 25. ‘One thing I know, whereas I was blind, now I see’. He was sure about that, because he had the proof in his own eyesight.
We may not know everything that took place in us when we asked Christ to come into our lives, but we do know that something has really happened. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says it so well, ‘If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature, old things have passed away, behold all things have become new’.
And we can be sure about that. God’s Word tells us that if we have called on Christ for salvation, it is ours now. There is no need to doubt it but simply to believe it, and our life will show the difference Christ has made.
THOUGHT:
Great sinners need a great Saviour. The result is always a great miracle.
