神的儿子参加婚筵
约翰福音二章1至12节
1 第三日，在加利利的迦拿有娶亲的筵席，耶稣的母亲在那里。
2 耶稣和他的门徒也被请去赴席。
3 酒用尽了，耶稣的母亲对他说：「他们没有酒了。」
4 耶稣说：「母亲（原文是妇人），我与你有甚么相干？我的时候还没有到。」
5 他母亲对用人说：「他告诉你们甚么，你们就做甚么。」
6 照犹太人洁净的规矩，有六口石缸摆在那里，每口可以盛两三桶水。
7 耶稣对用人说：「把缸倒满了水。他们就倒满了，直到缸口。」
8 耶稣又说：「现在可以舀出来，送给管筵席的。他们就送了去。」
9 管筵席的尝了那水变的酒，并不知道是那里来的，只有舀水的用人知道。管筵席的便叫新郎来，
10 对他说：「人都是先摆上好酒，等客喝足了，才摆上次的，你倒把好酒留到如今！」
11 这是耶稣所行的头一件神迹，是在加利利的迦拿行的，显出他的荣耀来；他的门徒就信他了。
12 这事以后，耶稣与他的母亲、弟兄、和门徒都下迦百农去，在那里住了不多几日。

主耶稣当然有能力满足我们的需要，可是，祂认为适合满足那需要的时间，往往与我们所想的不同。耶稣对母亲马利亚所说的话，正好证明这点；祂的话其实是要指出：「我希望妳明白，我现在要做的是父神的工作；除非是祂吩咐我去做，否则我甚么也不能行」。祂说完这句话之后的片刻，可能就立即以行动来满足了人的需要；可是，我们得留意，祂做任何事情之前都必须先获得父神的允准。我们是否也懂得像祂一样去等候神呢？
耶稣怎样吩咐仆人(7节)？祂要仆人作些甚么？祂要他们听从祂的指示去做。除非仆人照祂的吩咐「把缸倒满了水」，否则祂便不能作成祂的工作。当时的水缸，大约可盛20加仑的食水；换言之，仆人的任务相当繁重，然而他们却依从吩咐去做。
不仅如此，还要有信心的一步。除了把缸倒满水之外，耶稣还吩咐仆人做些甚么？「现在可以舀出来，送给管筵席的」。他们只是把水倒进缸里啊！他们把水舀给管筵席的人，岂不是贻笑大方？但马利亚却曾经吩咐他们说：「他告诉你们甚么，你们就作甚么」。于是，他们踏出信心的一步，把水舀出来--它竟然已经变成酒了，而且比先前摆上的酒更好哩！
这不是基督惯常采用的行事方式吗？你曾亲身经验过吗？你今天在基督里所经历的，是否比以前更丰盛呢？
反思：
有甚么事情，是基督曾经吩咐你去做，但你仍然未动手去做的呢？
God's Son at a Wedding
John 2:1-12
1 On the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there.
2 Now both Jesus and His disciples were invited to the wedding.
3 And when they ran out of wine, the mother of Jesus said to Him, “They have no wine.”
4 Jesus said to her, “Woman, what does your concern have to do with Me? My hour has not yet come.”
5 His mother said to the servants, “Whatever He says to you, do it.”
6 Now there were set there six waterpots of stone, according to the manner of purification of the Jews, containing twenty or thirty gallons apiece.
7 Jesus said to them, “Fill the waterpots with water.” And they filled them up to the brim.
8 And He said to them, “Draw some out now, and take it to the master of the feast.” And they took it.
9 When the master of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the master of the feast called the bridegroom.
10 And he said to him, “Every man at the beginning sets out the good wine, and when the guests have well drunk, then the inferior. You have kept the good wine until now!”
11 This beginning of signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His glory; and His disciples believed in Him.
12 After this He went down to Capernaum, He, His mother, His brothers, and His disciples; and they did not stay there many days.
Message
The Lord Jesus is always able to meet our needs, but his time to do so is often far different from ours. What Jesus said to Mary shows this - 'I want you to realise that I am on my Father's business now and I cannot do anything until he tells me.' It may have only been a little while before he did act, but he would not do anything until his Father allowed him. Have we learned to wait for God like that?
What did Jesus say? (v.7). What did he ask for? Obedient service. He did nothing more until the servants had done what he said - 'Fill the waterpots'. Each pot would have held up to 20 gallons. What a task he gave them! But they did what he said.
But there was one more thing - a step of faith. What else did Jesus tell them to do? 'Take a cup of the wine to the man in charge of the wedding feast'. But it was only water they put into the pots. They would be foolish to take water to the man in charge. But what had Mary said? 'Whatever he tells you, you do it.' They took the step of faith. They dipped out a cup of water - and now it was wine! And it was better than what they had before!
Isn't it the way Christ always works? Haven't you found it so? Is your experience of Christ richer today than it was before.
