诗篇第一篇所要带给我们的信息，可说是全部诗篇的精髓。它告诉我们：「生活要过得快乐，方法只有一个，就是要每天活在神的旨意中，以及要时刻遵行祂的旨意。」

但实际该如何做呢？诗篇第一篇的作者除了提醒我们不可作哪些事情之外，还教导我们应该作些甚么。他的指示如同路标，引领我们直趋正确的目的地。

第一个指示是「不从」--不从甚么？就是不依从未得救者所指示的道路。他们说：「人生如过眼云烟，必须及时行乐」。这不是基督徒的人生观。

第二个指示是「不站」--不站哪里？就是不站未得救者经常聚集、从事不正经活动的地方。这不是基督徒要去的地方。

第三个指示是「不坐」--不坐哪里？不与公开嘲笑神及神话语的人同坐。

那么，基督徒应该做些甚么呢？当他研读圣经，默想神话语的时候，他就会寻获快乐。因为他透过阅读圣经，便能得知神期望他做些甚么；他既明白神的旨意，便可以依从祂的心意而活。

如此，他便能够像一棵种在溪水旁的树一样，即使遇到天旱，这棵树仍能保持常青，因为它的根已经深入活水的泉源。

你是一个怎样的基督徒？经常渴望与未得救者为伍的基督徒？抑或喜欢研读圣经，并让圣经话语来引导人生，借此寻获真正快乐的基督徒？

反思：

倒退的三大步：依从未得救者到基督徒不该去的地方，并与他们同站和同坐。

The first Psalm really tells us the message of all the Psalms. It says, 'The only way to be truly happy is to live in the will of God and do the will of God day by day.'

But how do you do that? The writer of the first Psalm tells us what not to do as well as telling us what we should do. These instructions are like road signs, showing us where to go.

The first one says, 'Don't walk' - where? In the way the unsaved tell us to go. They say, 'You only live once, so have a good time'. That is not what a Christian should say.

The next one says, 'Don't stand' - where? In the place where the unsaved always gather, usually to do something wrong. That is no place for a Christian.

The third one says, 'Don't sit' - where? With those who openly laugh at God and his Word.

What should a Christian do then? He finds happiness in reading the Bible and in thinking over what he reads. He discovers in the Bible what God wants him to do and does it because it is God's will.

He will be like a tree alongside a creek. Even in dry times that tree will stay green because it puts its roots down to where the life-giving water is.

What kind of a Christian are you? One who still wants to always be with those who are unsaved? Or do you find your real happiness in the study of the Bible and in guiding your life by what it says?
