約翰福音二12-25
12這事以後，耶穌與他的母親、弟兄、和門徒都下迦百農去，在那裡住了不多幾日。
13猶太人的逾越節近了，耶穌就上耶路撒冷去。
14看見殿裡有賣牛、羊、鴿子的，並有兌換銀錢的人坐在那裡，
15耶穌就拿繩子作成鞭子，把牛羊都趕出殿去，倒出兌換銀錢之人的銀錢，推翻他們的桌子，
16又對賣鴿子的說：把這些東西拿去！不要將我父的殿當作買賣的地方。
17他的門徒就想起經上記著說：我為你的殿心裡焦急，如同火燒。
18因此猶太人問他說：你既作這些事，還顯什麼神跡給我們看呢？
19耶穌回答說：你們拆毀這殿，我三日內要再建立起來。
20猶太人便說：這殿是四十六年才造成的，你三日內就再建立起來嗎？
21但耶穌這話是以他的身體為殿。
22所以到他從死裡復活以後，門徒就想起他說過這話，便信了聖經和耶穌所說的。
23當耶穌在耶路撒冷過逾越節的時候，有許多人看見他所行的神跡，就信了他的名。
24耶穌卻不將自己交托他們；因為他知道萬人，
25也用不著誰見証人怎樣，因他知道人心裡所存的。

昨天我們提到精神病專家費希爾博士的話，他說當他在尋找構成精神健康的正面態度時，他看到了八福以後就知道沒有再繼續尋找的必要。
費希爾博士在幫助了有精神、情緒或身體問題的人差不多五十年以後，他總結說：「如果你要綜合由最專業的心理學家和精神病學家所寫、關於「心理衛生」的權威性文章，如果你要將這些文章結合、提煉，將多餘的廢話除去；如果你要去蕪存菁；如果你要最拔尖的詩人言簡意賅地表達這些純科學知識，你就會發現，與我們主耶穌的八福相比，牠們是不完整的，是相形見拙的。」
牧者兼基督徒心理學家克拉默（Raymond Cramer）稱八福為「耶穌的心理學」，他也說了相仿的話。有些人可能認為用「耶穌的心理學」來形容八福很不恰當，但要記得，說這話的是一位科學家。在研究人類行為的法則，並尋求是什麼東西把人帶到整合的高峰時，克拉默看到耶穌在八福中的話，他認為這是最清楚和最簡潔地表達了個人可以得到滿足和內在快樂的原則。在我們現今這麼一個對人類行為感到著迷的時代裡面，隻有一種心理學是真正的心理學，那就是耶穌心理學。

12 After this he went down to Capernaum with his mother and brothers and his disciples. There they stayed for a few days.
13 When it was almost time for the Jewish Passover, Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
14 In the temple courts he found people selling cattle, sheep and doves, and others sitting at tables exchanging money.
15 So he made a whip out of cords, and drove all from the temple courts, both sheep and cattle; he scattered the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables.
16 To those who sold doves he said, "Get these out of here! Stop turning my Father's house into a market!"
17 His disciples remembered that it is written: "Zeal for your house will consume me."[a]
18 The Jews then responded to him, "What sign can you show us to prove your authority to do all this?"
19 Jesus answered them, "Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days."
20 They replied, "It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and you are going to raise it in three days?"
21 But the temple he had spoken of was his body.
22 After he was raised from the dead, his disciples recalled what he had said. Then they believed the scripture and the words that Jesus had spoken.
23 Now while he was in Jerusalem at the Passover Festival, many people saw the signs he was performing and believed in his name.[b]
24 But Jesus would not entrust himself to them, for he knew all people.
25 He did not need any testimony about mankind, for he knew what was in each person.

Yesterday we touched on the statement of a psychiatrist, Dr James Fisher, who said that when searching for the positive attitudes which made for good mental health, he came across and realised that he need search no longer.
After nearly fifty years' experience of helping people with mental, emotional and physical problems he concluded: "If you were to take the total sum of all authoritative articles ever written by the most qualified of psychologists and psychiatrists on the subject of mental hygiene - if you were to combine them and refine them and cleave out the excess verbiage - if you were to take the whole of the meat and none of the parsley, and if you were to have these unadulterated bits of pure scientific knowledge concisely expressed by the most capable of living poets, you would have an awkward and incomplete summation of our Lord's Beatitudes - and it would suffer immeasurably through comparison."
Dr Raymond Cramer, a minister and a Christian psychologist, says something similar when he describes as "the psychology of Jesus". Some may find that expression unacceptable when applied to , but remember, this is a scientist who is speaking. In studying the laws of human behaviour and seeking to discover what brings a person to his highest point of integration, he came to see that the words of Jesus in are the clearest and most succinct expression of the principles by which a person can know contentment and inner happiness. In an age which is fascinated with the study of human behaviour, there is only one true psychology - psychology of Jesus.

Prayer
Father, I see that psychology, as well as all other "-ologies", are only valid as they are brought to Your feet. Show me, dear Lord, not just how to live, but how to live abundantly. In Jesus' Name I pray. Amen.
