神會採用這種方式來拯救未信者。許多未得救的人，正是在人生中最憂傷、痛苦的時刻，才懂得回轉尋求神。但更重要的，是神有時也會讓祂的兒女經歷困苦，為的是要他們學會順服祂的帶領。聖經稱這是「神的管教」。請讀希伯來書十二章5至11節。神藉著管教，讓祂的兒女承認祂的主權和明白祂對他們的心意。此刻，你正在經歷神的管教嗎？你明白神的管教是要你順服祂的心意嗎？當你願意向神順服的時候，你必能從嶄新的角度去明白神的心意。

反思：

管教總是令人難受的；可是，只有接受管教的人，才能被神使用。

Day 20

FLIES, FLIES EVERYWHERE

Exodus 8: 20 - 32

20 And the LORD said to Moses, “Rise early in the morning and stand before Pharaoh as he comes out to the water. Then say to him, ‘Thus says the LORD: “Let My people go, that they may serve Me.

21 Or else, if you will not let My people go, behold, I will send swarms of flies on you and your servants, on your people and into your houses. The houses of the Egyptians shall be full of swarms of flies, and also the ground on which they stand.

22 And in that day I will set apart the land of Goshen, in which My people dwell, that no swarms of flies shall be there, in order that you may know that I am the LORD in the midst of the land.

23 I will make a difference between My people and your people. Tomorrow this sign shall be.”’”

24 And the LORD did so. Thick swarms of flies came into the house of Pharaoh, into his servants’ houses, and into all the land of Egypt. The land was corrupted because of the swarms of flies.

25 Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron, and said, “Go, sacrifice to your God in the land.”

26 And Moses said, “It is not right to do so, for we would be sacrificing the abomination of the Egyptians to the LORD our God. If we sacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians before their eyes, then will they not stone us?

27 We will go three days’ journey into the wilderness and sacrifice to the LORD our God as He will command us.”

28 So Pharaoh said, “I will let you go, that you may sacrifice to the LORD your God in the wilderness; only you shall not go very far away. Intercede for me.”

29 Then Moses said, “Indeed I am going out from you, and I will entreat the LORD, that the swarms of flies may depart tomorrow from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people. But let Pharaoh not deal deceitfully anymore in not letting the people go to sacrifice to the LORD.”

30 So Moses went out from Pharaoh and entreated the LORD.

31 And the LORD did according to the word of Moses; He removed the swarms of flies from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people. Not one remained.

32 But Pharaoh hardened his heart at this time also; neither would he let the people go.

Message

Have you ever been in a place where flies were absolutely everywhere? You couldn't get away from them no matter what you did. They got into your food, your eyes, your mouth, your nose and your ears. If you have been in a place like that, you can imagine what it was like during the fourth plague that God brought on Egypt.

Why did these plagues come? Moses had asked that the people of Israel be allowed to leave Egypt. But Pharaoh, the king had refused. In doing so he was not just fighting against Moses, but against the God of Moses. It was a question of who would win. Pharaoh, the proud, arrogant, mighty king, or God the creator of all?

God had to show Pharaoh that there was someone greater than he was. God sent these plagues (and removed them too) whenever he wanted to. They all had the same purpose of breaking down the hard heart of the Egyptian king.

God sometimes has to deal with people today in the same way. He doesn't send plagues of flies or frogs, of darkness or distress, but he does allow suffering and hardship in order to break down the will of a person who has refused to recognise his Lordship.

God does this with unsaved people. Many have turned to him in time of sorrow or loss. But most of all he uses suffering or hardship to bring his own children to the place where he wants them to be. The Bible calls this 'chastening'. Read about it in Hebrews 12:5-11. It is God's way of bringing us to the place of recognising his right as our Lord to do what he wants in our lives. Has God been working in your life in this way recently? Why not surrender to his will in a fresh way today?

A THOUGHT:

Discipline is not easy to take, but a disciplined (trained) life is the life God can use.

20耶和華對摩西說：你清早起來，法老來到水邊，你站在他面前，對他說：耶和華這樣說：容我的百姓去，好事奉我。

21你若不容我的百姓去，我要叫成群的蒼蠅到你和你臣僕並你百姓的身上，進你的房屋，並且埃及人的房屋和他們所住的地都要滿了成群的蒼蠅。

22當那日，我必分別我百姓所住的歌珊地，使那裡沒有成群的蒼蠅，好叫你知道我是天下的耶和華。

23我要將我的百姓和你的百姓分別出來。明天必有這神蹟。

24耶和華就這樣行。蒼蠅成了大群，進入法老的宮殿，和他臣僕的房屋；埃及遍地就因這成群的蒼蠅敗壞了。

25法老召了摩西、亞倫來，說：你們去，在這地祭祀你們的神罷！

27我們要往曠野去，走三天的路程，照著耶和華─我們神所要吩咐我們的祭祀他。

28法老說：我容你們去，在曠野祭祀耶和華─你們的神；只是不要走得很遠。求你們為我祈禱。

29摩西說：我要出去求耶和華，使成群的蒼蠅明天離開法老和法老的臣僕並法老的百姓；法老卻不可再行詭詐，不容百姓去祭祀耶和華。

30於是摩西離開法老去求耶和華。

31耶和華就照摩西的話行，叫成群的蒼蠅離開法老和他的臣僕並他的百姓，一個也沒有留下。

32這一次法老又硬著心，不容百姓去。
