完美的大祭司
希伯來書五章1至10節
1凡從人間挑選的大祭司，是奉派替人辦理屬神的事，為要獻上禮物和贖罪祭（或作：要為罪獻上禮物和祭物）。
2他能體諒那愚蒙的和失迷的人，因為他自己也是被軟弱所困。
3故此，他理當為百姓和自己獻祭贖罪。
4這大祭司的尊榮，沒有人自取。惟要蒙神所召，像亞倫一樣。
5如此，基督也不是自取榮耀作大祭司，乃是在乎向他說你是我的兒子，我今日生你的那一位；
6就如經上又有一處說：你是照著麥基洗德的等次永遠為祭司。
7基督在肉體的時候，既大聲哀哭，流淚禱告，懇求那能救他免死的主，就因他的虔誠蒙了應允。
8他雖然為兒子，還是因所受的苦難學了順從。
9他既得以完全，就為凡順從他的人成了永遠得救的根源、
10並蒙神照著麥基洗德的等次稱他為大祭司。

透過昨天選讀的經文，我們已知道基督是我們的大祭司；我們今天將會更深地了解這位大祭司和祂的工作。今天我們只會專注探討前六節，其餘的四節將會留待明天繼續。事實上，這章經文一直至十章39節，都是論及基督是我們的大祭司，當中雖然加插了其他主題。
這六節經文解答了好幾個問題，它們包括：基督真的有足夠資格作大祭司嗎？祂是否履行大祭司的工作？是誰選立祂作大祭司？請先看以下的比較：
舊約的大祭司需具備：
從人選出來──基督符合這個條件。
是奉派替人辦事──基督符合這個條件。
是辦理屬神的事──基督符合這個條件。
能體諒那愚蒙和迷失的人──基督符合這個條件。
惟要蒙神所召──基督符合這個條件。
祭司是站在神與人的中間，處理人神隔絕的核心問題──就是人的罪。這正是耶穌基督的工作──祂將自己獻上，為所有人獻上了最大的贖罪祭。
基督定意要親自成全這項工作。請翻到希伯來書十章5至9節。那裡記載父怎樣呼召祂的兒子，基督如何歡喜快樂地回應。祂是因著神的旨意而來，為的也是成就神的旨意。我們今天有一位何等奇妙的大祭司！
反思：
我們的大祭司願意體恤那些愚蒙和迷失的人，我們又怎樣呢？
CHRIST OUR PERFECT HIGH PRIEST
Hebrews 5:1-10
1 For every high priest taken from among men is appointed for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins.
2 He can have compassion on those who are ignorant and going astray, since he himself is also subject to weakness.
3 Because of this he is required as for the people, so also for himself, to offer sacrifices for sins.
4 And no man takes this honor to himself, but he who is called by God, just as Aaron was.
5 So also Christ did not glorify Himself to become High Priest, but it was He who said to Him:
“You are My Son,
Today I have begotten You.”
6 As He also says in another place:“You are a priest forever
According to the order of Melchizedek”;
7 who, in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications, with vehement cries and tears to Him who was able to save Him from death, and was heard because of His godly fear,
8 though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered.
9 And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him,
10 called by God as High Priest “according to the order of Melchizedek,”
Message
The writer has already introduced Christ as our High Priest. Now we study his person and his work in more detail. Our reading today and tomorrow will be the same but today we will look only at the first six verses. This section regarding Christ as our High Priest really goes on to chapter ten verse 39, although a number of other subjects are covered there also.
Here are some of the questions that are answered by these verses. Does Christ fulfil all the qualifications of a high priest? Has he done the work of a high priest? Who appointed him as high priest? Look at these comparisons:
The Old Testament high priest was:
1. Chosen from among men-so was Christ.
2. Appointed for men-so was Christ.
3. Served in things to do with God-so did Christ.
4. Offered sacrifices for sins-so did Christ.
5. Dealt gently with the ignorant-so did Christ.
6. Called of God (v. 4)-so was Christ.
The priest stood between God and man to deal with that which separated God from man. That is exactly what Jesus Christ did-he offered the sacrifice of himself, the greatest of all sacrifices.
Christ was chosen for this task by God himself. Turn to Hebrews 10:5-9. Read there how the Father called the Son and how Christ gladly and wonderfully responded. He came here in the will of God, to do the will of God. What a wonderful High Priest is ours today.

Our High Priest deals gently with the ignorant and with those who are misled. Are we like him in this way?
