聖經——神給我們的禮物
詩篇第一篇
1不從惡人的計謀，不站罪人的道路，不坐褻慢人的座位。
2惟喜愛耶和華的律法，晝夜思想，這人便為有福！
3他要像一棵樹栽在溪水旁，按時候結果子，葉子也不枯乾。凡他所做的盡都順利。
4惡人並不是這樣，乃像糠秕被風吹散。
5因此當審判的時候，惡人必站立不住；罪人在義人的會中也是如此。
6因為耶和華知道義人的道路，惡人的道路卻必滅亡。

我們怎能在屬靈上成長呢？任何成長都與足夠的食物和正確的生長條件緊密相關。彼得教導我們，要「愛慕靈奶，叫你們因此漸長」。故此，我們要追求靈命成長，就必須要在聖靈的帶領下，用心研讀和吸收神的話語。不吃靈糧，又哪來成長呢？
現代人的生活忙碌，我們很容易找到種種理由，不花時間研讀神賜給我們的話語。然而，成長與否，關鍵卻在於我們有否研讀神的話語──不單是研讀，更是要遵從神的話語而行，我們的生命才會徹底被改變。
換言之，我們的靈命成長，是基於三個要素：首先是靠神話語的喂養；其二，常常與神相交；第三，是容讓聖靈在我們的生命中動工。此外，我們與其他信徒一起禱告、研經、敬拜和事奉的生活，就是幫助我們成長的有利條件。
禱告父神，你愿意成長，並記住靈命成長永不嫌太晚。
THE BIBLE, GOD’S GIFT TO US
Psalm 1
1 Blessed is the man
Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
Nor stands in the path of sinners,
Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD,
And in His law he meditates day and night.
3 He shall be like a tree
Planted by the rivers of water,
That brings forth its fruit in its season,
Whose leaf also shall not wither;
And whatever he does shall prosper.
4 The ungodly are not so,
But are like the chaff which the wind drives away.
5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment,
Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
6 For the LORD knows the way of the righteous,
But the way of the ungodly shall perish.
Message
How do we grow spiritually? Any growth is closely connected with adequate food and the right conditions. Peter wrote that we should “crave spiritual milk (food) so that by it we might grow.” Spiritual growth is obviously linked with our reading, studying, and being fed on the words of God under the guidance of the Spirit of God. There can be no spiritual growth apart from this.
It is very easy in our busy lives to find reasons for not spending time in God’s word, which is His gift to us. Yet here is where it has its greatest impact. It is not merely reading the word that makes the difference, but our obeying it.
Then our spiritual growth is dependent on our feeding on the word of God, plus our communing with God and thirdly allowing the Spirit of God to work in our lives. Remember also the right environment for spiritual growth is a vital relationship with other believers in prayer, in study, in worship, and in service.
Tell God, your heavenly Father, that you want to grow and don’t forget - no one is too old to start growing - spiritually.
