但以理為王解夢
但以理書二章19至29節
19這奧秘的事就在夜間異象中給但以理顯明，但以理便稱頌天上的神。
20但以理說：神的名是應當稱頌的！從亙古直到永遠，因為智慧能力都屬乎他。
21他改變時候、日期，廢王，立王，將智慧賜與智慧人，將知識賜與聰明人。
22他顯明深奧隱秘的事，知道暗中所有的，光明也與他同居。
23我列祖的神啊，我感謝你，讚美你，因你將智慧才能賜給我，允准我們所求的，把王的事給我們指明。
24於是，但以理進去見亞略，就是王所派滅絕巴比倫哲士的，對他說：不要滅絕巴比倫的哲士，求你領我到王面前，我要將夢的講解告訴王。
25亞略就急忙將但以理領到王面前，對王說：我在被擄的猶大人中遇見一人，他能將夢的講解告訴王。
26王問稱為伯提沙撒的但以理說：你能將我所做的夢和夢的講解告訴我麼？
27但以理在王面前回答說：王所問的那奧秘事，哲士、用法術的、術士、觀兆的都不能告訴王；
28只有一位在天上的神能顯明奧秘的事。他已將日後必有的事指示尼布甲尼撒王。你的夢和你在床上腦中的異象是這樣：
29王啊，你在床上想到後來的事，那顯明奧祕事的主把將來必有的事指示你。

但以理為我們立了一個美好的榜樣。當神應允他的祈求，將王的夢和夢的解釋，在異象中向他顯明，他便立刻為神所彰顯的大能而衷心謝恩（20至23節）。
當但以理來到王的面前，為王解夢，他便首先向王稱頌神的智慧和權能。巴比倫是一個信奉異教的國家，巴比倫王也掌握了人的生死大權；然而，但以理卻毫不畏懼地宣稱他所信的，是一位擁有最高權能的神。他說：「只有一位天上的神，能顯明奧祕的事。」（28節）接著，他才向王講述夢和夢的解釋。
這個奇怪的異象，向尼布甲尼撒王啟示了數百年後所發生的事。神真的可以預知未來嗎？只因這位至高的真神，從世界一開始便預知了它的終結，祂是掌管歷史的神。這位永恆不變的神，今天同樣掌管著你和我的未來，祂必親自引導我們走前面的路。
尼布甲尼撒在夢中見到的像，基本上是預示了世界列強在歷史中的轉替。強國一個接一個地興起，但至終卻會沒落和瓦解，直至耶穌基督在地上永遠作王（44節）。
藉著基督的再來，成就神的計劃，實現在祂兒子身上的應許--萬物都要因耶穌的名屈膝跪拜。我們還要等多久呢？我們不知道確實的答案。不過，彼得提醒我們說：「親愛的弟兄啊，你們既盼望這些事，就當殷勤，使自己沒有玷污，無可指摘，安然見主。」（彼後三14）
我們應該以這種心態來過每天的生活。每天都假定耶穌基督今天將會回來，所以要努力為主而活；並要殷勤事主，贏取更多的人進入神的國度。你期望耶穌就在今天再來嗎？你是否已作好準備去迎見祂呢？
DANIEL AND THE KING'S DREAM
Daniel 2:19-29
19 Then the secret was revealed to Daniel in a night vision. So Daniel blessed the God of heaven.
20 Daniel answered and said: “ Blessed be the name of God forever and ever,
For wisdom and might are His.
21 And He changes the times and the seasons;
He removes kings and raises up kings;
He gives wisdom to the wise
And knowledge to those who have understanding.
22 He reveals deep and secret things;
He knows what is in the darkness,
And light dwells with Him.
23 “ I thank You and praise You,
O God of my fathers;
You have given me wisdom and might,
And have now made known to me what we asked of You,
For You have made known to us the king’s demand.”
Daniel Explains the Dream
24 Therefore Daniel went to Arioch, whom the king had appointed to destroy the wise men of Babylon. He went and said thus to him: “Do not destroy the wise men of Babylon; take me before the king, and I will tell the king the interpretation.”
25 Then Arioch quickly brought Daniel before the king, and said thus to him, “I have found a man of the captives of Judah, who will make known to the king the interpretation.”
26 The king answered and said to Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, “Are you able to make known to me the dream which I have seen, and its interpretation?”
27 Daniel answered in the presence of the king, and said, “The secret which the king has demanded, the wise men, the astrologers, the magicians, and the soothsayers cannot declare to the king.
28 But there is a God in heaven who reveals secrets, and He has made known to King Nebuchadnezzar what will be in the latter days. Your dream, and the visions of your head upon your bed, were these:
29 As for you, O king, thoughts came to your mind while on your bed, about what would come to pass after this; and He who reveals secrets has made known to you what will be.
Message
Daniel was an exception. His first action when God had revealed both the king's forgotten dream and its interpretation was to thank God for this remarkable display of His power (vv.20-23).
Notice Daniel's description of God's wisdom and powers when he was standing before Nebuchadnezzar. In a heathen court where the king had the power of life and death, Daniel was not afraid to speak of the greater power of his God. "There is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries," he said (v.28). Then he proceeded to outline both the dream and its interpretation.
This strange vision given to Nebuchadnezzar revealed the future for hundreds of years to come. How was this possible? It is simply because God knows the end from the beginning and He is still the same today. He knows our future and can guide us accordingly.
Basically the image Nebuchadnezzar saw in his dream was a prophetic picture of successive future world empires. Each of them would rise, then fail and crash until finally Jesus Christ takes over the rulership of the world (v.44).
That event, the second coming of Christ, is the next step in God's plan to bring about the fulfillment of His promise to His Son that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow. How soon will that be? We do not know but Peter reminded us, (2 Peter 3:14) "So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him."
That should be our daily attitude. We need to live as if Jesus is coming today, yet to work as if He will not be coming for another generation. Are you expecting Jesus to come today? Are you ready to meet him?
