人生中最重要的事
路加福音十二章13至23節
13眾人中有一個人對耶穌說：“夫子，請你吩咐我的兄長和我分開家業。”
14耶穌說：“你這個人！誰立我作你們斷事的官，給你們分家業呢？”
15於是對眾人說：“你們要謹慎自守，免去一切的貪心，因為人的生命不在乎家道豐富。”
16就用比喻對他們說：“有一個財主田產豐盛，
17自己心裡思想說：‘我的出產沒有地方收藏，怎麼辦呢？’
18又說：‘我要這麼辦：要把我的倉房拆了，另蓋更大的，在那裡好收藏我一切的糧食和財物，
19然後要對我的靈魂說：靈魂哪，你有許多財物積存，可作多年的費用，只管安安逸逸地吃喝快樂吧！’
20 神卻對他說：‘無知的人哪，今夜必要你的靈魂，你所預備的要歸誰呢？’
21凡為自己積財，在 神面前卻不富足的，也是這樣。”
22耶穌又對門徒說：“所以我告訴你們：不要為生命憂慮吃甚麼，為身體憂慮穿甚麼；
23因為生命勝於飲食，身體勝於衣裳。

基督只應了他一句（14節），便繼續向眾人講話，提醒他們不要貪戀錢財，「因為人的生命不在乎家道豐富。」基督再次用比喻來講解這個真理。
比喻中的財主擁有豐富的田產，可惜人生觀卻完全錯誤。他重視肉體而非靈魂；重視短暫的今生而非永恆。
世人可能認為他是一個傑出的成功人士。他擅於計劃，以致年年豐收；他又精於打算，準備擴充他的倉庫。他的人生正不斷邁向新的高峰！
他對自己說些甚麼呢？「靈魂啊，你有許多財物積存，可作多年的費用，只管安安逸逸地吃喝快樂吧！」然而，財物是不能滿足靈魂的！今天的人之所以心浮氣躁，其中一個原因，正是因為這方面出錯：他們吃喝玩樂，想用種種物質來滿足自己，誰不知這一切都只能滿足肉體，卻完全不能滿足人的心靈！
財主所想的「多年」，究竟是多久呢？神卻對他說：「你只能活到今夜！」神「破壞」了他的人生大計。財主雖然擁有倉庫和田地，卻沒有醒覺他的人生並非在他的掌握之中，而且人生短暫。
基督提醒眾人，永恆遠比今生重要；同時，認識神也遠比賺取財富要緊。
基督在馬太福音十六章26節提醒我們說：「人若賺得全世界，賠上自己的生命，有甚麼益處呢？人還拿能甚麼換生命呢？」
WHAT IS IMPORTANT IN YOUR LIFE?
Luke 12:13-23
13 Then one from the crowd said to Him, “Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me.”
14 But He said to him, “Man, who made Me a judge or an arbitrator over you?”
15 And He said to them, “Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.”
16 Then He spoke a parable to them, saying: “The ground of a certain rich man yielded plentifully.
17 And he thought within himself, saying, ‘What shall I do, since I have no room to store my crops?’
18 So he said, ‘I will do this: I will pull down my barns and build greater, and there I will store all my crops and my goods.
19 And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; take your ease; eat, drink, and be merry.”’
20 But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have provided?’
21 “So is he who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.”
22 Then He said to His disciples, “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; nor about the body, what you will put on.
23 Life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing.

Christ replied briefly (v.14) then went on to warn the crowd about greed, 'There is more to life than money'.
Again he used a short story to drive home that truth.
In the parable, the rich successful farmer had a totally wrong perspective. He preferred his body to his soul and he preferred time to eternity.
The world would have considered him a smart man, an outstanding success. He had planning ability. He had bumper crops. He had the capacity to extend his storage barns. He was on the way up!
What were his thoughts? 'I will say to myself you have plenty of good things laid up for many years!' But a man's soul cannot be satisfied with 'goods'. One of the reasons behind the restlessness of this age is just that. Men and women are trying to feed and satisfy their inner beings by those things which only touch the body.
He spoke about 'many years'. But how long is eternity? And what did God say? 'Tonight - now!' God broke in on his thoughts and his life-program. What he didn't realise was that he might own his barns and his land, but he had a permissive occupancy on life itself.
Christ was wanting his hearers to realise that Eternity is more important than time. Knowing God, said Christ, is far more important than all the riches of earth.
Christ said it again in Matthew 16:16, 'What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? What is your answer to that?'
