神的兒子參加婚筵
約翰福音二章1至12節
1 第三日，在加利利的迦拿有娶親的筵席，耶穌的母親在那裡。
2 耶穌和他的門徒也被請去赴席。
3 酒用盡了，耶穌的母親對他說：「他們沒有酒了。」
4 耶穌說：「母親（原文是婦人），我與你有甚麼相干？我的時候還沒有到。」
5 他母親對用人說：「他告訴你們甚麼，你們就做甚麼。」
6 照猶太人潔淨的規矩，有六口石缸擺在那裡，每口可以盛兩三桶水。
7 耶穌對用人說：「把缸倒滿了水。他們就倒滿了，直到缸口。」
8 耶穌又說：「現在可以舀出來，送給管筵席的。他們就送了去。」
9 管筵席的嘗了那水變的酒，並不知道是那裡來的，只有舀水的用人知道。管筵席的便叫新郎來，
10 對他說：「人都是先擺上好酒，等客喝足了，才擺上次的，你倒把好酒留到如今！」
11 這是耶穌所行的頭一件神蹟，是在加利利的迦拿行的，顯出他的榮耀來；他的門徒就信他了。
12 這事以後，耶穌與他的母親、弟兄、和門徒都下迦百農去，在那裡住了不多幾日。

主耶穌當然有能力滿足我們的需要，可是，祂認為適合滿足那需要的時間，往往與我們所想的不同。耶穌對母親馬利亞所說的話，正好證明這點；祂的話其實是要指出：「我希望妳明白，我現在要做的是父神的工作；除非是祂吩咐我去做，否則我甚麼也不能行」。祂說完這句話之後的片刻，可能就立即以行動來滿足了人的需要；可是，我們得留意，祂做任何事情之前都必須先獲得父神的允准。我們是否也懂得像祂一樣去等候神呢？
耶穌怎樣吩咐僕人(7節)？祂要僕人作些甚麼？祂要他們聽從祂的指示去做。除非僕人照祂的吩咐「把缸倒滿了水」，否則祂便不能作成祂的工作。當時的水缸，大約可盛20加侖的食水；換言之，僕人的任務相當繁重，然而他們卻依從吩咐去做。
不僅如此，還要有信心的一步。除了把缸倒滿水之外，耶穌還吩咐僕人做些甚麼？「現在可以舀出來，送給管筵席的」。他們只是把水倒進缸裡啊！他們把水舀給管筵席的人，豈不是貽笑大方？但馬利亞卻曾經吩咐他們說：「他告訴你們甚麼，你們就作甚麼」。於是，他們踏出信心的一步，把水舀出來--它竟然已經變成酒了，而且比先前擺上的酒更好哩！
這不是基督慣常採用的行事方式嗎？你曾親身經驗過嗎？你今天在基督裡所經歷的，是否比以前更豐盛呢？
反思：
有甚麼事情，是基督曾經吩咐你去做，但你仍然未動手去做的呢？
God's Son at a Wedding
John 2:1-12
1 On the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there.
2 Now both Jesus and His disciples were invited to the wedding.
3 And when they ran out of wine, the mother of Jesus said to Him, “They have no wine.”
4 Jesus said to her, “Woman, what does your concern have to do with Me? My hour has not yet come.”
5 His mother said to the servants, “Whatever He says to you, do it.”
6 Now there were set there six waterpots of stone, according to the manner of purification of the Jews, containing twenty or thirty gallons apiece.
7 Jesus said to them, “Fill the waterpots with water.” And they filled them up to the brim.
8 And He said to them, “Draw some out now, and take it to the master of the feast.” And they took it.
9 When the master of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the master of the feast called the bridegroom.
10 And he said to him, “Every man at the beginning sets out the good wine, and when the guests have well drunk, then the inferior. You have kept the good wine until now!”
11 This beginning of signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His glory; and His disciples believed in Him.
12 After this He went down to Capernaum, He, His mother, His brothers, and His disciples; and they did not stay there many days.
Message
The Lord Jesus is always able to meet our needs, but his time to do so is often far different from ours. What Jesus said to Mary shows this - 'I want you to realise that I am on my Father's business now and I cannot do anything until he tells me.' It may have only been a little while before he did act, but he would not do anything until his Father allowed him. Have we learned to wait for God like that?
What did Jesus say? (v.7). What did he ask for? Obedient service. He did nothing more until the servants had done what he said - 'Fill the waterpots'. Each pot would have held up to 20 gallons. What a task he gave them! But they did what he said.
But there was one more thing - a step of faith. What else did Jesus tell them to do? 'Take a cup of the wine to the man in charge of the wedding feast'. But it was only water they put into the pots. They would be foolish to take water to the man in charge. But what had Mary said? 'Whatever he tells you, you do it.' They took the step of faith. They dipped out a cup of water - and now it was wine! And it was better than what they had before!
Isn't it the way Christ always works? Haven't you found it so? Is your experience of Christ richer today than it was before.
