哥林多後書三章1至6節
1我們豈是又舉薦自己麼？豈像別人用人的薦信給你們或用你們的薦信給人麼？
2你們就是我們的薦信，寫在我們的心裡，被眾人所知道所念誦的。
3你們明顯是基督的信，藉著我們修成的。不是用墨寫的，乃是用永生神的靈寫的；不是寫在石版上，乃是寫在心版上。
4我們因基督，所以在神面前才有這樣的信心。
5並不是我們憑自己能承擔甚麼事；我們所能承擔的，乃是出於神。
6他叫我們能承當這新約的執事，不是憑著字句，乃是憑著精意；因為那字句是叫人死，精意（或作：聖靈）是叫人活。

留意第3節：「你們明顯是基督的信，藉著我們修成的。不是用墨寫的，乃是用永生神的靈寫的；不是寫在石版上，乃是寫在心版上的。」
我們寫信是為了與人溝通。因此，基督徒的生命，就是基督寫給世人的信，為的是讓人藉此認識祂。我們要預備自己的心靈，讓基督寫信給世人。
每封信都各有不同，都帶有寫信者的特徵，包括他的字跡和書寫風格。許多時候，我們單憑信封上的字跡便可猜到誰是寫信者。同樣地，別人要讀我們的信多久，才得知我們是屬於耶穌基督的呢？
信件通常有寫信者的簽名，而且一般都是在最後祝願或表達愛意之後才署名。基督豈不是同樣要藉著我們，向世人傳達祂為愛世人，甚至甘願為世人犧牲的信息嗎？
我們有時會接獲一封難讀的信件，可能是因為字跡模糊，或信上染上污漬，甚至是因為信紙沾了水而使字跡化作一團。當我們把信打開的時候，通常第一眼便會發現這些瑕疵。同樣地，別人一看我們這封基督的信，就察覺到我們的過失或瑕疵了。
你我生命的信，究竟是怎樣的信呢？約翰壹書一章9節告訴我們，只要我們認自己的罪，基督必然會洗淨我們一切的不義。如此，基督在我們生命中用愛寫成的信，便不會再留下污漬，讓人可以一目了然了。
基督透過我們生命所寫的信，究竟是一封怎樣的信呢？
THE FIFTH GOSPEL
2 Corinthians 3:1-6
1 Do we begin again to commend ourselves? Or do we need, as some others, epistles of commendation to you or letters of commendation from you?
2 You are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read by all men;
3 clearly you are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart.
4 And we have such trust through Christ toward God.
5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God,
6 who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.
Message
How many Gospels portray the life of Jesus? There are four. Written long ago, they can easily be read by Christians or non-Christians. But there is a fifth Gospel as well. It is read by everyone who sees it. It is your life and mine. It is the daily life of a Christian lived out before his or her family, friends or the world.
Notice verse 3: "You are a letter from Christ, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts."
What is a letter? It is a communication written by one person to another. In our case, it is from Christ to the world. Our hearts are the stationery, the prepared material, on which Christ is writing to the world.
A letter is usually typical of the writer. Often we can recognize the handwriting even before we open the envelope. Similarly, how long does it take for someone to recognize that we belong to Jesus Christ?
A letter carries the signature of the writer. Generally it is next to a greeting or an expression of love. Isn't that the message that Christ wants to convey to the world through us - that He loves the World and gave His life for it?
Sometimes we receive a letter which is very difficult to read. The writing may be blurred. It may be blotted. Something may have been spilled on it. Those are the first things we notice when we open a letter. In the same way, our faults and blemishes are always easily seen. They are blots on Christ's letter to the world.
What does the letter of your life or my life look like? 1 John 1:9 tells us that our lives can be cleansed day by day so that Christ's love letters to the world can be easily read by all who see them.
