基督復活
約翰福音二十章1至10節
1七日的第一日清早，天還黑的時候，抹大拉的馬利亞來到墳墓那裡，看見石頭從墳墓挪開了，
2就跑來見西門彼得和耶穌所愛的那個門徒，對他們說：“有人把主從墳墓裡挪了去，我們不知道放在哪裡”
3彼得和那門徒就出來，往墳墓那裡去。
4兩個人同跑，那門徒比彼得跑得更快，先到了墳墓，
5低頭往裡看，就見細麻布還放在那裡只是沒有進去。
6西門彼得隨後也到了，進墳墓裡去，就看見細麻布還放在那裡
7又看見耶穌的裹頭巾沒有和細麻布放在一處，是另在一處捲著。
8先到墳墓的那門徒也進去，看見就信了。
9因為他們還不明白聖經的意思，就是耶穌必要從死裡復活。
10於是兩個門徒回自己的住處去了。

馬利亞似乎是第一個來到墳前，她或許也是在十字架下留到最後一刻的人。她在星期日的大清早來到基督的墳前，一眼就發現石頭已被滾開了。聖經告訴我們，她「看見石頭從墳墓挪開了」，按照希臘原文，這裡的用詞是「隨便一瞥」。就好像我們說：「我看見他，卻沒看清誰跟他在一起。」馬利亞匆匆一瞥，但沒有留下來看清楚到底發生了甚麼。
約翰是第二個跑到墳前的人（5節），他往裡一看，同樣如馬利一樣隨便一瞥；然後彼得便到了，彼得跑進墓裡，站在那裡納悶，他還「推斷」，裹尸布還在那裡，但遺體卻不見了。究竟發生了甚麼事？簡直好像遺體蒸發了。他無法解釋墳墓怎麼會空空如也。
此刻，約翰也跑進來，他「看見就信了」。這裡所用的「看見」，意即看見便明白了。約翰看見的景象，與別人所見到的無異，但他卻明白箇中的意義。他是第一個相信基督復活的人嗎？第9節告訴我們，他們那時還未完全明白，但已經開始相信基督復活了。
當彼得和約翰跑回城去，告訴其他門徒的時候，他們的心境必然跟跑來的時候完全不同。我們今天當然明白基督的復活對我們有何意義，那意味著祂時刻與我們同在；祂時刻為我們代求。而且，祂更差派聖靈來使我們明白祂，基督，所成就的一切。讓我們為基督的復活讚美神！
THEN CAME SUNDAY
John 20:1-10
1 Now the first day of the week Mary Magdalene went to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and saw that the stone had been taken away from the tomb.
2 Then she ran and came to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and said to them, “They have taken away the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid Him.”
3 Peter therefore went out, and the other disciple, and were going to the tomb.
4 So they both ran together, and the other disciple outran Peter and came to the tomb first.
5 And he, stooping down and looking in, saw the linen cloths lying there; yet he did not go in.
6 Then Simon Peter came, following him, and went into the tomb; and he saw the linen cloths lying there,
7 and the handkerchief that had been around His head, not lying with the linen cloths, but folded together in a place by itself.
8 Then the other disciple, who came to the tomb first, went in also; and he saw and believed.
9 For as yet they did not know the Scripture, that He must rise again from the dead.
10 Then the disciples went away again to their own homes.
Message
Mary seemed to have been the first at the tomb, as she might have been the last at the cross. She came very early on the Sunday morning and in one glance took in the fact that the stone was rolled away. We are told she “saw that the stone had been removed”. The Greek word used here means a “casual glance”. In the same way we might say, “I saw him but didn’t see who he was with.” She took one look but did not stay to work out what had really happened.
John was the next one to reach the tomb (v.5). He looked in, with the same kind of casual glance Mary had given. Then Peter arrived, went into the tomb and stood there puzzled. He “theorized”. The grave clothes were there but the body was gone. What had happened? It was almost as if the body had evaporated! Peter could not account for the empty tomb.
Now John went right into the tomb and “he saw and believed”. The word used is the one from which we get our word “horoscope” - to understand what you are seeing. John saw what the others had seen but he saw the significance of it all. Was he the first person to believe in the resurrection? Verse 9 tells us they still did not see it all clearly but they were on the road to believe in the risen Christ.
What a difference it must have made to the two men as they walked back into the city to tell their fellow disciples. We know what Christ’s resurrection means to us today. He is present with us. He is interceding for us. He has sent the Holy Spirit to make real to us all that He, Christ, has made possible. Praise God today for Christ’s resurrection.
